What we OfferWe provide physiotherapy services for people of all ages - children to geriatrics, with neurological/orthopaedic problems in a multidisciplinary setting.
Rehabilitation of movement following an insult to the brain from a lack of oxygen or an injury. This would include conditions such as a stroke, traumatic brain injury, cardiac event, meningitis and cerebral palsy, parkinsons & multiple sclerosis.
Coma Arousal Therapy
In-patient services where we will work with people in so called “persistent vegetative states”, “minimally conscious states” or who are still in coma.
Pip Jackson and Associates are the only physiotherapists to offer this in South Africa. Click here for more information.
We provide out-patient and home rehabilitation for those coming out of their rehabilitation unit or for those who do not want in-patient rehabilitation following a spinal cord injury or compromise. Our goal is always to achieve maximum recovery & function.
Neuro Muscular Skeletal Therapy
Rehabilitation of Bone & Soft Tissue Injuries. Treatment of sore back, knees, muscles, necks, sprains, strains etc.
Physiotherapy for kids ranging from 6 months up, for low muscle tone / postural instability or developmental delay including CP, Down Syndrome and recovering from serious accidents or illness. We use a neuro-developmental (NDT) approach to therapy and we aim to make all of our sessions fun for children whenever possible. We play games, make obstacle courses, and laugh a lot during sessions. We prefer parents to sit in if they want to.
Local home rehabilitation for people recovering after surgery, illness or injury and who are unable to travel to therapy. We travel in limited radius from the practice – click here to submit an enquiry or find out more.
Falling regularly? Physiotherapy can screen to find treatable causes which we can address or refer on to another appropriate professional. We work using the Otago exercise programme (from New Zealand) to prevent falls in older adults which has seen a 35% reduction in falls.
With over 20 years in the field, Pip Jackson is available to do medico-legal physiotherapy reports for lawyers. She has completed the Foundations of Medico-Legal Practice Course held by SAMLA & University of Cape Town and is currently participating in a Series of Practical Workshops in Medico Legal Practice.
